Thanks to Sieglinde von Helmste, I was drawn today west to east to the Oste including unused ferry terminals in Oberndorf an der Oste and Wischhafen an der Elbe. The barefoot path in Oederquart is also unused, but the Korff path with its variety of fruit trees is absolutely recommendable. After the pleasant tail wind on the way there, we took a short break at the Freiburg harbor and cycled back through Kehdingen to the Free State of Helmste.

A dream vacation on the dream path finds its finale in Venice. When we were preparing the tour at home, we could already feel how difficult it is to plan. Then we sat in the beer garden in Munich and had no idea what to expect, and then everything turned out very differently, namely much nicer, more interesting, more exciting, more strenuous ... We are incredibly grateful for the experience. All the snails actually crossed the mountains completely unharmed, only a few mosquitoes caught us on the Piave. When it got particularly strenuous, the changed objectives helped us. Not Venice, but the stage destination or at least the next climb or at least the next step had to be mastered. When the breath was completely gone, it helped to pause for a moment, turn around and enjoy the magnificent view. The warm acquaintances we made on our hike were also absolutely great. We met so many positively crazy people, each with their own interesting story. The joy of seeing each other in the huts was huge, especially since we often spend the night together in the camp.
We cannot name a highlight of our 640 km long path with a total of 23,700 meters of altitude in 30 stages and a day of bathing in the sea, but the Dolomites have also particularly impressed us.

The morning, which was a little cooler, we hiked first on an unprotected back road, later on a dam with a gravel path. Then we continued on a wooded nature trail on the Piave River. We strengthened ourselves at lunchtime at the supermarket in Musile. When we were walking through the residential area afterwards, a friendly Italian stopped his bike and asked where we were going. Along the Piave and a main road it would have been 14 km to Jesolo. He recommended us the car-free path on the rivers Veccia and Sile and even accompanied us 1 km through the village to show us the right path. We accepted the suggestion with thanks, won a great distance and 5 additional kilometers. Shortly before the goal, we strengthened ourselves with delicious figs from the tree.
