A small but very nice round and today with great views of Heiligenstadt and even a place with a bench with a view of the Brocken. Unfortunately, it wasn't really recognizable today because it was in the mist / fog.
The play of colors from bright sun, light blue to dark sky made the short hike appear very beautiful.
From the Heiligenstädter Dünkreuz you have a super beautiful view of Heiligenstadt as well as the Ihberg, Elisabethhöhe, Rusteberg and the like. There is also a large shelter and benches outside.
I would say it was worth it.
Thank you Andrea for encouraging me to do it 😃🙋‍♀️

My 🚗 had to go to the workshop again. I used the waiting time for this little discovery tour. Discovered another very beautiful corner of Witzenhausen.

Start u. The end of this tour was the parking lot at the shooting range, above Güntersen.
Right at the beginning we had difficulties starting because the planned route was closed. So back and on the 2nd try it went ahead😉. The circumnavigation or crossing of the Backenberg is on different routes, between 4.8 km (G2), 9.2 km (G3) and the Vulkanweg 13.2 km (V1) on paved, gravel, tar and grass paths with different Gradients to go.
Views of the region's volcanoes (Hoher Hagen, Ossenberg, Grefenburg, Bramburg), Plesse Castle and Solling, Bramwald and Brocken are possible.
When crossing the Backenberg you reach the beautiful Backenbergsee, framed by volcanic rock formations.

Coming from the Vollungssattel car park, I follow the yellow circle with a 4 in it. This path is a wide, well-developed forest road and can be walked without difficulty. It is approx. 2 km to the Großer Habichtstein. On the way you will find further markings such as X5 H, LM X7 or E6.
The Großer Habichtstein is relatively easy to climb and you don't need any climbing equipment 😉☺. But climbers also try their hand at the Habichtstein.
At the top there is a bank, it is now a bit old, but today it still held 😉🙂.
From up here you have a wide view.

From the parking lot to the Hohlstein cave there are only a few, estimated about 200 - 250 meters. The cave was probably accessible earlier. It is now closed due to falling rocks. The bicycle MB paths are also closed due to fallen trees or can only be used partially.
However, path 26 is unhindered and can be used without restrictions, apart from the mud.
The Gasthaus Forellhof was still well attended today, November 1st, 2020. From tomorrow November 2nd, 2020 due to Corona, unfortunately closed again for table guests for 4 weeks.
As a remark I would like to mention that the given time is not correct.

Just a short walk today. My 👀 and soul needed colors, fresh air and peace.
Unfortunately I was once again carried away by the cloud formations, the colors of autumn and the view.
Sorry, there are way too many photos again 😚but today I felt like it
Wish you all a nice weekend and send best regards from Göttingen 👋👋

The start was from Witzenhausen, near the pottery. It was a nice autumn hike again. On the X5 H hiking trail or cherry hiking trail along Andrea and I were rewarded again and again with beautiful views.

The starting point is the parking lot at Hackenbach on the L523 between Schwiegershausen and Osterode.
From the parking lot there is a short walk to the street and a few meters left on the forest path. From here the path is mostly natural in often open terrain and gains easy elevation gain. Photos 6 - 29 show the muddy and slippery route, which, however, rewards with a good view of the Harz Mountains (forwards) and the ridge near Northeim (looking backwards).
The 240 m detour to the "Feldherrenhügel" lookout point was worth it and was surprised with a grandiose view. Back on path S3 in the direction of Schwiegershausen, we continued on hard surface and dry with another magnificent panoramic view.
CONCLUSION: A wonderful tour with physical effort and grandiose views.
      Have fun hiking. 😉😂

The Hengstberg with a height of 415 m is located in the upper Leinebergland of southern Lower Saxony in Germany. Not far from Göttingen, approx. 7 km.
There are some circular routes and even a summit cross, which unfortunately I haven't been, as the way up was too slippery for me today.
Otherwise, the circular route can be classified as easy. The path is a solid forest road. The panoramic view extended to the Harz with Brockenblick and Ohmgebirge. Beautiful 👌.
