About Pam
I lived and worked for Lufthansa ✈️ in Germany 🇩🇪 until I took early retirement and moved to South Africa 🇿🇦 in 2016.
I love wildlife 🐘🦒🦓 and anything to do with the outdoors. 🥾🎒🚴♀️
As water is so scarce here in SA 🇿🇦 I’m amazed at all the dams, so I’m constantly looking for new ones to visit. 🌊
I have a YouTube channel for anyone who is interested in short wildlife videos 📹 under pam zirkel.
Several times a week, I volunteer at a children's center for orphans and vulnerable children.
The children come to the center after school, have lunch 🍽️ then twice a week I help with English reading 📚 and twice a week with Maths ✖️➗➕➖
I organise a Christmas 🎅🏼 party for these children, which means 100 shoe boxes 📦 have to be filled each year.
Two of our supermarkets in town donate the food 🥦🥕🫑 for the party.
So if anyone is interested in donating, this is possible via my PayPal Account under
pamelazirkel@gmail.com
Any help is so very much appreciated. 🙏🏻

SAWS have been promising heavy rain all day but nothing has come till now, so I decided a quick walk to the top dam. Once out, I saw the clouds that were on the way but thought - come, chance it! I got as far as Pump Station 1 and decided to take the service road back home, I’ll get to Osprey Dam another day! Coming along the service road, it finally did start to rain, so I went up one of the driveways to the road and home I ran! They have promised 100% rain for the next three days - let’s wait and see. It’s certainly lashing it down in Mozambique 🌧️🌧️ No animals to see of course, cos they’re all hiding in the thick bushes. They seem to sense when the weather changes.

SAWS, the South African Weather Service, has forecasted a tropical storm starting tonight and not stopping till Thursday! Yes Thursday! Heavy showers, intense thunderstorms and high winds so it looks like this was my last walk for a week

As one of my visitors is called Jessica, we booked a tour to visit the well known Hippo Jessica. We then moved on to have a look how full the Blyde River is flowing

Great pictures. I didn't know that it's safe to approach a hippo so close. And the Blyde River is really bold at the moment.
Oh yes, the dam really looks completely full. Ich wish you an wonderful and blessed new year.
It's great when you write longer texts... I'll learn a bit more English that way... I'm not really a language whiz 🤪🙋🏼♀️
