MARSCHTORZWINGER:
The last of what were once five round towers at the corners of the former city wall. The adjacent Marschtor gate was demolished in the 19th century. It was fully restored between 1984 and 1986 using city funds. Since then, it has served as a venue for exhibitions and cultural events. A visit is highly recommended 👍🏼.

The March Gate Kennel was built in the 16th century and is the only one of five defense towers that have survived. The round tower has a diameter of about ten meters and in some places its walls are up to 1.90 meters thick.

Last of five round towers at the corners of the former city wall. The marching gate was demolished in the 19th century. The kennel was probably built in the 16th century. Applies as the only cultural and historical monument of this kind in northern Germany. Today the Marschtorzwinger is used for art exhibitions. The walls are up to 1.90 thick.
