    Wesselhoeft Park
The Sillem family purchased the property from the van der Smissen family in 1825
and had the park laid out in the English style.
The property passed into the possession of Carl Wesselhoeft in 1864,
who enriched the park with exotic plants.
In 1953, the family sold large parts of the park to the City of Hamburg,
which have been open to the public ever since.
The park is characterized by numerous old trees, two former mill ponds,
and the river that winds through the grounds.

The Wesselhöftpark is located in the immediate vicinity of the Elbe and the Jenischpark. The park once belonged to the merchant Wesselhöft. Since 1953 he is available to the public. The natural green area receives its special character, above all through the old trees and the two former mill ponds.
