Here in the Christophstal valley on the Forbach River, a mint for silver coins and medals was located from 1622 to 1628. After several other uses, the building complex was used as a file-making workshop, which continued until 2010.
Since 2017, the former file-making workshop has been owned by the city of Freudenstadt.
