Tips

  • Ein 🐟 namens Wander

The lake is picturesquely situated in the valley and offers plenty of seating all around. Particularly noteworthy is the barbecue area at the foot of the waterfalls: three rotating grids are attached to the fireplace and there are not only many tables with benches, but also a drinking water fountain and two shelters - one for bicycles, for example. Super equipment!

Wonderful refreshment when it's hot. So: take a towel with you! But it also works without it. :-)

At the lake there are many benches, shady or in the sun, as well as with and without table. 👍🏻

Original benches invite you to take a break. If the water is not too cold, you can also go for a swim.

Nice place for a picnic at the end of the lake. Shortly before the climb to the waterfalls there are inviting tables and volumes

The Sankenbachsee invites you to rest and relax.

The Sankenbachsee is one of five cirque lakes in the Baiersbronn district. The Karsee was created in the last and penultimate Ice Age through glaciation. The Sankenbachsee is the only Karsee in which swimming is allowed and therefore invites you to cool off.

The lake and the adjoining wet meadows form a valuable biotope, which is why it is under nature protection today.

Near the lake are the waterfalls, a barbecue area, the game reserve and a playground. The Sankenbachtal is therefore ideal for a family hike.

Greatly laid climb. Hiking boots recommended, in dry weather with "normal" solid shoes walkable.

Idyllic lake. Watch out for (very) small frogs in early summer!
