    St. Peter's Church

The stylish Baroque church of St. Peter was rebuilt in 1746/1747 by the Hamburg master builder Johann Leonhard Prey from bricks. Prey was the co-builder of Hamburg's main church of St. Michael, the Hamburg Michel. At the dimensions of the church one can still see today the prosperity of the Ostener in this time. The interior decoration from the construction period has been preserved unchanged; it unmistakably resembles that of the Hamburg Michels. The baroque pulpit altar with its 10 m high back wall, the two-storey west gallery, the long line of Gutspriechen, the flat wooden barrel vault with lush ornamental decoration on the large nave can impress with the uniformity of the late Baroque style. The organ was created by Jakob Albrecht in 1751. By the brothers Peternell 1890, a new organ was installed in the old prospectus. The organ was restored in 1992.

Actually everything has been said. You can actually see immediately the similarity with the Hamburger Michel. She is always impressive.

The ⛪️ church tower in the center of town cannot be overlooked. The baroque church of St. Petri was built from bricks in 1746/1747 by the Hamburg master builder Johann Leonhard Prey. Prey was the co-builder of Hamburg's main church, St. Michaelis, the Hamburger Michel. The size of the church still shows the prosperity of the Osten residents at that time. The interior from the time of construction has been preserved unchanged; it is unmistakably similar to that of the Hamburger Michel.
