Originally, today was supposed to be a completely different tour, but yesterday's downpours did change my plans. So today I took the train to Bickenbach, south of Darmstadt, and from there initially headed towards the Pfungstädter Moor. On sometimes idyllic paths through the forest, the trail led to

A beautiful tour along the Nidder between Niederdorfelden, Oberdorfelden and Kilianstädten with quite pleasant temperatures today, even if it got quite warm in the sun at times.
After the severe fall last week, it went quite well, even though I can still feel the bruises quite a bit.
It was fun!

After I fell hard on my face yesterday during a hike while trying to overcome a 70 cm difference in altitude on a slippery spot at a running pace (with a slight bruised rib and some abrasions), we took it easy and less dangerous today and went on a trip with a city tour to Butzbach.
A nice little town👍

A short tour from Bad Vilbel Heilsberg through the Vilbeler Wald back home in this heat.
At least there was some shade😅

Actually, it was supposed to be a tour a bit further away, but the weather forecasts changed every 10 minutes, so I decided to stay closer to home.
I took the train to Niederdorfelden and then back to Bad Vilbel through the fields. By now, almost all the fields have been harvested, so in the middle of

Small afternoon tour from Ober-Erlenbach to Massenheim with a visit to the now quite large beaver lake in Nieder-Erlenbach and past Obsthof Schneider.
Always pleasant to walk.

Today another tour with Rüdiger, the start was in Mühlheim-Dietesheim, and of course we first headed for the quarries.
Past the Frankfurter See, Vogelsberger See and Oberwaldsee, our path led us to the river Main, where we crossed the Main at the Mühlheim weir and then leisurely ate the packed lunches

Today a visit to the Altneckarlachen near Bickenbach south of Darmstadt.
Hard to believe that just over 2000 years ago the Neckar flowed through this area and only further north near Trebur flowed into the Rhine.
Especially in the wet or marshy areas there were some beautiful impressions with many water

So warm again?
Let's take the train and bus to Großer Feldberg, hopefully it's a bit cooler there.
It started at relatively moderate temperatures, and today I chose the Brunhildispfad trail for the descent from Feldberg. Quite rocky and with many roots, it requires some sure-footedness.
Past the Weilquelle

We took the bus early this morning to the Berger Warte, to walk the beautiful path over the Berger Rücken again.
It's always beautiful to look over the Vilbeler Wald in the direction of the Taunus. in the direction of Bergen and deep into the Wetterau.
In a wide arc through the fields between Bad Vilbel

Today, for me, quite early by my standards, I took the bus to Frankfurt Bergen and then past the Schelmenburg towards Enkheimer Ried along the Berger Hang.
I always quite like the paths on the Berger Hang, even though there wasn't much to see today.
At Enkheimer Ried, I then turned towards Bischofsheim

Today a tour in the Taunus with Rüdiger (@kmr), a good friend and long-time work colleague.
We had to improvise a bit at the start, as the Hochtaunusstraße was closed due to a serious accident, and we couldn't take the originally planned bus. Luckily, another bus took an alternative route, so we reached

After all the heat, another small tour along the Nidda on the left side of the Nidda between Frankfurt-Berkersheim and Bad Vilbel. The Nidda is still quite natural in this section, so there is always something to see. You don't get all these impressions from the Niddaradweg. In parts, the path is a bit

Nice little tour on the nature trail in the Schwarzen Moor in the Rhön.
The path, which largely runs on wooden boardwalks, is easy to walk.
It was fun to study the many information boards and learn a bit more about moors.
Unfortunately, the weather became a bit oppressive towards the end, but oh well.

Today, for a change, there was a tour through the vineyards on the Untermain south of Aschaffenburg.
Even if the journey by train was not entirely unproblematic, it was a beautiful tour starting in Wörth am Main.
After a short stroll through the pretty town, my path led me across the railway bridge to
