Osten Transporter Bridge (Oste River Transporter Bridge)

In my previous visits, the transporter was unfortunately out of service! But the sight is already imposing. From November to March no operation, otherwise operating times, depending on the season, between 10 and 18 clock! (Shorter, shorter in low season)

On steel cables hangs a ferry, which used to transport pedestrians and vehicles safely over the eastern part. Today, on certain days, as pedestrians and cyclists, you can again enjoy a crossing.

A trip with the ferryman is like visiting a museum and crossing. He is very happy to provide information and you can learn a lot in the 15 minutes from "checking in" to getting off the ferry. The ferry is closed to cars under 40 years of age. No kidding, vintage cars are allowed to translate. On 7.8. luckily the ferry was in operation :)
