When the guild fountain was ceremoniously unveiled on Sunday, June 6, 1926, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Eger trade association and the 25th anniversary of the Association of Cooperatives, Steingasse could not contain the crowd. The unveiling ceremony ended with flag-waving by 23 butcher journeymen on the Brühlwiese. Only then could the citizens take a closer look at the new guild fountain. Three trades had created a joint work here: the stonemason, the blacksmith and the bell founder. The monument, designed by the Eger artist Adolf Mayerl, has the figures of a master, a journeyman and an apprentice on its granite central column. The art-forged grille was made by Hermann Ernst, the 33 historical guild coats of arms cast from ore come from the workshop of the bell founder Lorenz Pistorius.
