The Counts Schlick had their roots in Eger and were originally a patrician family that became rich through the cloth trade. The house of the respected knight and councilor family Šlik von Lasan from Seeberg was rebuilt at the beginning of the 19th century, and the originally three-axis facade was expanded according to the plans of V. Prökl. At the same time, the alliance coat of arms of the Junkers and Aichler with the year 1670, originally placed in house number 5 below the Gablerhaus, was inserted into the simple Empire facade. The facade is now adorned with a mural that illustrates the family history. The cozy “Caffé11” is located on the ground floor of the building. The cross street that meets the pedestrian zone here is named after the family: Šlikova.

Schlick was the son of the Eger merchant and councilor Heinrich Schlick from an originally Vogtland family (from the Plauen and Oelsnitz area), which can be traced back to the year 1230. It was first documented in Eger in 1390. The origins of Constanze's mother are uncertain; It speaks more for a middle-class origin from Eger than for a previously claimed descent from the Italian Counts Collalto. Son Kaspar studied in Leipzig and was part of King Sigmund's entourage in 1415 on his trip to Spain, France and England. The following year he joined the royal chancellery as a clerk. In 1422 he appears in documents for the first time as a secretary. In 1424 he became a notary, in 1427 pronotary and in 1429 vice-chancellor.
