The gatekeeper's house from 1614 is remarkably located in front of the city wall with the stork tower from the early 15th century.

The stork tower stood in front of the upper city gate and, like the Catholic church tower, is part of the city fortifications. A small Baden coat of arms suggests that it could have been built in 1449, but its structural substance is older.
