The Celestial Sphere Fountain features the twelve signs of the zodiac. Jets of water erupt from the most important stars. When reconstructing the gardens, it is not clear which side of the sphere should point upwards. The sky above London on 30 April 1662 at one o'clock at night was chosen: the place and time when Mary was born.

The well of heaven shows the twelve signs of the zodiac. When it was built in the 17th century, it was not yet known exactly how the ball should stand on its base. Ultimately the starry sky was chosen as seen over London in the morning of April 30, 1662: the place and time when Mary was born.
