It was here that the two most powerful groups of the 19th century clashed. In response to the omnipresence of the church, the Liberals decided to create a new park in an old cemetery, just opposite the Sablon church, where each of the columns represents one of the professions of Brussels. Alongside the statues of the Counts of Egmont and Hornes is a series of statues, not of saints or gods, but of famous humanists and freethinkers.
