Originally, a highway was planned for this location. But in 1977, the municipality of Jette decided to develop a park in the Molenbeek valley. The idea was to create a northern counterpart to the Forêt de Soignes (to the south), and to the parks of the Woluwe valley (east of Brussels).
On the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the monarchy in 1980, the park was named after King Baudouin.

The Parc Roi Baudouin, also known as the King Baudouin Park, extends in the Molenbeek valley and includes a combination of semi-natural landscapes and recreational areas. The park is fully included in the Natura 2000 zone.
Attention to the many other recreationists!
