This 1899 Art Nouveau building was built to house the Old England department store. The store moved out in 1972, in 178 the building was bought by the Belgian government. It took over fifteen years to complete restoration and renovation work on the structure. The Musical Instruments Museum moved in between 1989 and 1994.
