The NSG "Gumnitz und Großer Schlagenthinsee" includes the approx. 16 hectare large Schlagenthinsee south of the Müncheberg train station, the Torfstich and two other smaller bodies of water through which the Kreuzfliess flows, including the Kleine Schlagenthinsee.
The Gumnitz peat cut was created between 1983 and 1990 through peat extraction; the Gumnitzwiesen adjoin it to the southwest. The NSG can be reached from the north via Schlagenthin. A field path leads past horse paddocks to the south and directly along the Gumnitz peat cut. A circular path around the Gumnitzwiesen follows on the south bank of the peat cut.
