Important note for the tour in the lower Polenztal: Leave the right-hand Polenztalweg already at the bridge after the second tavern and change to the left bank of the Polenz. (After about 3 km you would have to go on this way anyway!) The right bank path is suddenly closed without prior notice because of storm damage on the last few hundred meters. There, the entire slope has fallen over. A free cut only the way (National Park!) Can lead to slipping on the slope and will not happen. So switch right at the penultimate bridge on the left and save miles!

The hike started with a bus from Hrensko. In order not to have to walk on the neatly used road we drove 3 stations bus. From the gate, take the path to Mezni Louka. Unfortunately, it also leads through many total damage areas of the bark beetle, which has caused even more damage in the Bohemian part as already in the Saxon. From there take the blue trail and then the yellow to Kamenice (Kamenitz). Then through the deep gorge, including a passable only with barge piece and a little later through the Edmundsklamm. Again, passable on a section only with barge. Just enjoy this wonderful nature! The gorge exit opens already in Hrensko, a piece by the place on the right river side and with the ferry again back to the station. A nice round trip!

The Kirnitzschklamm is absolutely worth seeing. A very beautiful piece of nature. The ferryman explains a great deal while driving, which makes it even more interesting. Shortly after the ride, as a 'slender' person, you can climb up the pictured ladder through the crevice. The fat ones get stuck, according to ferryman, and make the 'Saxon diet'. After two days, go on ... Continue to Königsplatz. There is a great view to enjoy and a bank invites you to linger. Then the descent begins back to the parking lot Buchenparkhalle at Hinterhermsdorf, the starting point.
