On the southern slope of the Plattenberg in the Schneeberg massif, mining activities in a silver mine are reported as early as the 16th century, and there is also said to have been a Silberhaus accommodation for the miners. Silver ores were not found here, however, it may have been silver iron ore like in Fichtelberg-Neubau. Furthermore, it was probably just an experimental dismantling, because nothing is recorded in the margravial fief books.
