At times pretty crowded and thus long waiting times.
Very nice location right on the Fichtelsee.
Tretbootverleih.

Stiller dammed up forest lake with "acidic" fish-free water. Quiet rather not, there are many tourists. Bathing and boat driving.

The Fichtelsee is not only nice to look at but offers a refreshing bathing experience in summer.

Even in winter (mid-Feb) a relaxing destination with plenty of peace and nature. One should expect at this time of year with some icy ways (during the day it thaws and night freezes everything violently).

The Fichtelsee is one of my favorite destinations, especially in the summer, and to stop by, there is a delicious tavern here.

Very beautiful forest lake in the middle of the Fichtelgebirge. Great for swimming in summer. The water is a bit colder because the lake is in the forest.

Very beautiful lake that you can easily walk around. In one or the other spot you have your peace and quiet and can enjoy nature.

Old descriptions of the Fichtelsee tell of a deep mountain lake that hits the Ochsenkopf with its waves. According to current knowledge, there has never been such a lake. Rather, its formation has to do with mining. In 1650 a trench was dug from the high moor to Fichtelberg. In addition to the Fichtelnaab, it was supposed to provide additional water power to drive the hammers. As time went on, however, the moor dried up more and more. Since the water was now scarce, an artificial reservoir was built in 1739: the Fichtelsee. The current size of around 11 hectares was created between 1983 and 1986 and resulted in an increase in size by more than the original water area. Source: fichtelberg.de/freizeit-sport/fichtelsee

We started our tour here and let it end here again. Parking next to the hotel, good food and friendly staff. What we wanted to say, we did not go over the water, probably the GPS has misunderstood something!

Those who do not go during peak hours can take a few leisurely laps around the lake. Later more rush when the sun comes out. It's a hotspot

A great place to start your tours. The hotel is right on the lake and you can eat, drink and spend relaxing hours. The best time is during the week

Why not rent a boat and enjoy the peace and quiet on the lake.
