Das FrankenwaldSteigla Grünes Band ist ein ca 12 km langer Rundwanderweg der entlang des ehemaligen innerdeutschen Grenzstreifens verläuft.
Mitwitz gilt als Geburtsort des Grünen Bandes, da hier nach der Wiedervereinigung die Idee des Biotopverbandes entlang der ehemaligen Grenze entstand.

Schilmbachschlucht-Klausenturm-Roter Fels-Jägersteig
Start war auf dem kleinen Parkplatz oberhalb von Hölzlmühle bei Ahornberg. Der Rundweg ist durchgängig gut ausgeschildert mit einer blauen 4 auf weißen Grund. Große Wonsees Erlebnisrunde
Vom Wanderparkplatz bei Schirradorf ging es erstmal zum malerischen Balmenflur.
Balmen sind Halbhöhlen die durch Auswaschungen entstanden sind. Prähistorische Menschen hatten darunter oft ihre Wohnungen. Später als Unterstand für Tiere genutzt.
Vorbei am Klingelloch und den Schwalbenstein unter welchen die Schwalbachquelle entspringt.
