The pilgrimage site Steinknock above Mistendorf with its very idyllic, neo-Gothic Steinknock chapel has existed for over 350 years. The shortest way to the chapel hill leads directly over a steep set of stairs. Those who prefer a gentler ascent can also use the forest path, which branches off from the main path after a further 700 meters on the left.

The construction of the pilgrimage chapel is based on a typical apparition legend.

For details, see information panel > photo.

The chapel was originally made of wood. The current chapel and staircase were built in 1893 in the neo-Gothic style.
