Absolutely worth seeing: The place was in the national competition "our village should be beautiful" not in vain for gold village. Here you can marvel at 31 listed old, half-timbered half-timbered farmhouses and a former mill. In the inn also located here, there are good home cooking.

Frankendorf, probably one of the most beautiful street villages in Franconia, is picturesquely located in the valley of the Deichselbach between steep Jura slopes, along the stream. A settlement has been developing on both sides of the stream since the 11th century. Most of the 31 well-preserved and lovingly maintained half-timbered houses on one floor were built in the 18th and 19th centuries. The inn and the former mill stand out in a characteristic way from the otherwise single-storey buildings. The ensemble was awarded a gold medal in the 1981 national competition "Our village should become more beautiful". Although new buildings have also been built in the recent past, Frankendorf is considered the best-preserved half-timbered village in the Regnitz valley.

The old (first mentioned in 1093), small Frankendorf is a unique ensemble of lovingly exposed and restored farmhouse half-timbered houses. It is always nice to watch when you pass by. Frankendorf became federal winner in 1981 in the competition "Our village should be more beautiful".
