On the occasion of Küchler's death on October 31, 1900, industrialist Cornelius Wilhelm von Heyl zu Herrnsheim called for donations in order to be able to erect and finance a commemorative monument to the late mayor and honorary citizen of the city of Worms. The memorial was erected by the Karlsruhe sculptor Johannes Hirt, originally from Worms, and unveiled on November 28, 1904. The bronze sculpture on a granite base originally stood opposite the old town hall in Hagenstrasse on Lindenplatz, which was renamed Küchler-Platz.
