Located directly on the Rhine promenade, the Hagen Monument is a reminder of the Nibelungen saga. He is currently in the process of sinking the Nibelung treasure in the Rhine. The promenade with its avenue of plane trees invites you to stroll and linger at any time of the year. In addition to a playground, there are also various restaurants with large outdoor areas to enjoy the beautiful weather and the view of the Rhine.

>> Hag monument
The bronze electroformed sculpture was designed by Johannes Hirt and installed in the city park in 1905. It was a foundation from Cornelius Wilhelm von Heyl zu Herrnsheim for the rose garden planned there (which, as far as I know, never existed). In 1932 it was moved to the bank of the Rhine on the base of the city's Rhine crane, where it still stands today.
>> Kriemhild's rose garden
At the end of 2020, a labyrinth was built right next to the Hagen Monument, which was called "Kriemhild's Rose Garden" and was planted accordingly. You could already enjoy the blooming, fragrant roses in 2021, even if they weren't very tall yet. We are still excited!
