Located directly on the Rhine promenade, the Hagen Monument is a reminder of the Nibelungen saga. He is currently in the process of sinking the Nibelung treasure in the Rhine. The bronze electroformed sculpture was designed by Johannes Hirt and installed in the city park in 1905. It was a foundation from Cornelius Wilhelm von Heyl zu Herrnsheim for the rose garden planned there (which, as far as I know, never existed). In 1932 it was moved to the bank of the Rhine on the base of the city's Rhine crane, where it still stands today.
