Fünfwundenkreuz Between Reitsch and Glosberg

On the path between Reitsch and Glosberg, there is a so-called Five Wounds Cross with a wonderful view of the heights of the Franconian Forest. A five-wound cross is a crucifix with a symbolic representation of Christ's crucifixion wounds. Only hands and feet with the nail wounds are represented, the crowning with thorns is represented by the crown itself, the face in the manner of the Shroud of Turin or the veil of Veronica, the deathblow by the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the heart roughly in a halo, by a sword - or seven swords (Seven Sorrows of Mary) or the spear - pierced, or through the gaping side wound with the dripping Holy Blood of Jesus. As with the crucifix, the INRI is often found on the extended cross post, and other symbols are also found on the base of the cross.

Quite unusual. Right on the side of the road/hiking trail.
