St. Wolfgang Church (Stockheim)

The church has existed in its current form with a chapel and southern nave since 1933.
At the entrance portal of the church you can see the sandstone relief on the west façade from 1710, which shows the prince-bishop's coat of arms of the then Archbishop of Bamberg, Lothar Franz von Schönborn. Inside you are also immediately confronted with history. At the top left of the gallery you can see the coat of arms of the city of Kronach with the year 1710. It refers to the ownership situation at the time.

A chapel in Stockheim had probably existed since 1596, which was replaced by a successor building around 1710. The church, in its current form with a chapel and southern nave, has existed since 1933. In 1979/80 a liturgical transformation took place. At the entrance portal of the church, a sandstone relief on the west facade from 1710 can be seen that shows the coat of arms of the prince-bishop of Bamberg, Archbishop Lothar Franz von Schönborn at the time. The patronage is celebrated on October 31st, the memorial day of St. Wolfgang von Regensburg.
