From 1888 onwards, the auxiliary tunnel, which was used to ventilate the mine workings and to bring the miners in, was only used as a beer cellar for the nearby pub. As a result, it was preserved for a length of 16 metres.

In 1993, the tunnel was converted into a small museum.
