Cycling
is a historic groundwater extraction facility. The listed domed building was constructed under the direction of William Heerlein Lindley. Today, it extracts approximately
10 cubic meters of water daily using 10 deep wells (66-143 m) and is operated by Hessenwasser.
History: Constructed 1890–1893, it went into operation in 1894 as Frankfurt's third groundwater extraction facility. The well systems were renovated in 1924 and 1964.
Technology & Function: The facility uses 10 deep wells to extract raw water, which is pumped to the associated water treatment plant for processing.
