The Münzenberg Musicians were a group of musicians from Quedlinburg who originally came from the Münzenberg, a hill opposite the Stiftsberg. They were predominantly of Bohemian origin and earned their living by playing music at various events, a tradition that continued until the early 1950s. Today, a bronze statue dedicated to the Münzenberg Musicians on Quedlinburg's market square, created by Professor Wolfgang Dreysse and erected in 1979.

This monument has been an architectural part of the market square for over 35 years. It shows four Münzberg musicians who were formerly Bohemian residents of the Münzenberg, an urban hill opposite the Stiftsberg. Many of the Münzenberg residents earned their money by playing music on a variety of occasions. This way of earning a living only lost its popularity after the war years of the last century. The group of figures, which is made of bronze, is located on a cloverleaf-shaped base made of granite. As part of the market square's redesign, the monument was converted into a fountain, so that there is now a watercourse in the middle of the group of figures, where specially made coins and medals are collected.

The renovation and redesign of the base was made possible with the funds collected by the Quedlinburg Citizens' Foundation.
