Today we started at the National Park Centre Kellerwald. We connected two routes: the Hagenstein - Route and a part of the Ringelsberg - Route.
Hagenstein is a viewpoint. It is one of the treasures of the National Park. From its distinctive rocky outcrop, you look into the valley of the upper Eder.

Today we went over quaint paths, through beautiful forest and across country lanes to the Edersee dam. The dam wall, built from 1908 to 1914, is a massive structure. There is also a visitor center on the other side of the dam. The building rises like a tower.

Schloss Waldeck, built in the 12th century and expanded until the 17th century, towers about 200 m above Hesse's largest lake, for which the Eder was dammed up from 1909 to 1913.
