The main square of the medieval city, as usual in such cities, is called the Market Square (Marktplatz), the building of the City Hall rises. The Town Hall was originally Gothic, but then rebuilt in the Renaissance style, although Gothic elements have survived in places, or were restored later in the 19th century, when the fashion began to return to antiquity.

Quedlinburg is a World Heritage Site. In the center of the historic old town is the market square. It is surrounded by a multitude of historic half-timbered houses that characterize the old town. On the north side of Quedlinburg's market square is the Quedlinburg town hall with the administrative headquarters of the city of Quedlinburg. The renaissance style building on the ground floor contains a model of Quedlinburg's historic Old Town.
In Quedlinburg there is much to discover. A great city!
