The market square is located in the center of the historic old town of Quedlinburg. It is surrounded by a large number of historic half-timbered houses that characterize the old town. The Quedlinburg town hall is located on the north side of the Quedlinburg market square. It is still the administrative seat of the city of Quedlinburg today. The building, built in the Renaissance style, contains a model of the historic old town of Quedlinburg on the ground floor.
