To promote an activity of Radio 3 in his hometown, Roland Rens was asked to make a drawing for the poster. The drawing “De Lach” immediately became the logo and symbol of the cultural center. When the cultural center moved to the new cultural site and was renamed CC Het Gasthuis, Rens was commissioned to immortalize the figure in a bronze bust. It has since adorned the entrance to the cultural center.

Hiking

The guest house site was transformed into a cultural site in 2005. The Tourism Department and the Stedelijk Museum were housed in the former maternity hospital, and the library can now be found in the former OCMW hospital. Cultural center Het Gasthuis is located on the site, in the former monastery buildings, the Burgerlijk Gasthuis, the Gasthuiskapel and the old farm. The infrastructure includes a modern theater hall, exhibition spaces, meeting rooms, cafeteria, etc. The Aleydistheater is housed in the old farmhouse.
