On site, the many flies and spiders as well as an animal skull (on the rock opposite) are not very inviting. - Never found without KOMOOT!There is a “natural niche or semi-cave” under the pulpit rock. The semi-open cave measures approximately 10 m in length and 4 m in depth. In front of the entrance there is a 2 m high and 15 m long straight rock wall. It is partly artificially made on the inside. On the walls all around you can see carved numbers, signs and inscriptions that have not yet been clearly interpreted. The local population once took refuge in this cave during times of war.”

At the Mantelweg, named after a forester named Mantel, southwest of the . In 1912 the Palatinate Forest Association created a path that leads up to the Kanzelfelsen. There is a semi-cave there, ten meters long and four meters deep, which once sheltered the population in times of war.
