The Roman fountain was supposed to be used to supply drinking water to the Esthal community due to its natural gradient. The plan was abandoned because of the low water output. The Roman fountain is part of the Esthal fountain hiking trail. A beautiful natural fountain that is located on the Esthal fountain hiking trail.

Part of the Esthaler Brunnenwanderweg - I would be interested in the naming - what do the Romans have to do with the fountain?

A somewhat unusual fountain (with a beautiful red sandstone name stone from 2015 and a rest bench) that begins above the "Brunnenweg" predicate path. This is followed by a small pond (lined with foil) - and then on the other side of the hiking trail again a well pipe, from which the water gushes down the steep slope - into a brook that runs parallel to the hiking trail.
