The rectangular sandstone tower between nave and choir has a Romanesque core (12th century), but is enclosed by outbuildings, so that only a minimal part is visible: a wall building in a small, irregular pattern with a round-arched window with arched stones, above the roof of the south outbuilding; the projecting sandstone part in regular pattern, is a later elevation with pointed arch-shaped chimneys connected by a cordon (15th century).

The lower part of the crossing tower is Romanesque, the superstructure of the crossing tower is Gothic and the nave is Neo-Baroque. For stability reasons, the church was shortened in 1994 and the monumental facade was replaced by a modern design. The church tower is 37.55 m high.
