Het was van 5 augustus geleden dat ik nog eens een etappe toevoegde aan mijn collectie 'Ontspoord Project'. ... en nog veel langer geleden dat ik daarbij nog eens een landsgrens overstak. Van Menen over Wervik naar Bousbecque, Linselles en Bondue, om te eindigen met een toerke over de citadel van Lille en een verkenning van het (zuid-)westelijke deel van de stadskern. De volgende etappe leidt naar Moeskroen, waarmee het gat in de ketting gedicht zal zijn (een eerdere etappe liep immers al van Moeskroen naar Wevelgem).
