From the bridge you have a good view of the newly built "Alter Binnhafen-Arm".

The railway bridge over the Emden inland port is prone to failure.
In recent years, disruptions to the bridge have steadily increased.
At the same time, it is an important bottleneck for the Emden port economy - especially automobile handling in the Emden port (almost 1.5 million vehicles annually) and for the tourist connections to Borkum, Norderney, Juist and Baltrum.
A second bridge would not only provide much-needed relief to the aging existing bridge, but would also provide an urgently needed replacement if the old bridge fails.
The IHK and the port industry have been calling for the construction of a second bridge for years.
Deutsche Bahn AG currently sees no need for construction and would instead like to thoroughly repair the old bridge.(Source: ihk.de)

Not only the railway has a bridge here, but there are two more, for cars and for cyclists/pedestrians
