The goose man fountain is one of the oldest ornamental fountains in the city of Meiningen and was built in 1854. The fountain figure is a copy of the goose figure from the well-known fountain of the same name in Nuremberg, which the ore founder Pankraz Labenwolf made around 1550.

The fountain stands in the middle of a small square, the paving of which is arranged in concentric circles around the fountain. On the base of a round stone slab sits an octagonal baptismal font-like sandstone basin on a stone column hewn several times. In the middle of the pool stands the bronze figure of the goose on an octagonal stone base. It depicts a farmer in trousers and boots with two geese under his arms. The water pours into the basin from the beaks of both geese.
