Yellow Lady's Slipper Orchids at Bühlchen

The yellow lady's slipper (Cypripedium calceolus), often simply called the lady's slipper, is exceptionally beautiful and legendary. However, the conditions for the yellow lady's slipper are becoming increasingly difficult. Intensive forestry and agriculture are reducing the semi-shaded locations that the lady's slipper requires. Another critical issue is that "orchid enthusiasts" are repeatedly digging up wild plants, and photo tourists are damaging the growing areas.

Unfortunately, it is necessary to fence in the Frauenschuh and ask signs to stay on the paths. And yet some actually traipse across country! 😤👎

On the P8 you pass, among other things, the Bülchen. A wide variety of rare plants grow here on the dry grassland.
Now in spring mainly orchids,
Anemones, cowslip and many other wild herbs such as daisies, gunsel, red clover, groundsel, speedwell,
dandelions etc.
It's worth a visit and there's a view to boot.
