On Premiumweg 8 there are several nature reserves on which, depending on the season, orchids and other beautiful plants grow.
Bühlchen is a shell limestone dome with poor grass on which it is, among other things, Orchids, gentians, anemones and other wildflowers, etc. Herbs as well as juniper to be discovered there.
There are fenced-in areas where mainly orchids should grow.
Today I didn't discover any orchids (too late), but I did see a lot of other wildflowers and herbs. I was enthusiastic about the Golddiestel.
I think this part of the world is beautiful in every season. I will definitely come back here 😀🙋♀️

On the Bühlchen you will find very nice areas with juniper bushes.
The name comes from the Old High German "wecholter" which means fresher and evergreen. You can find it on nutrient-poor soils such as lime or sand and need a lot of light.
The deep-rooting plant grows in a cylindrical columnar manner as a shrub or tree and can live up to 800 years. It has sharp, pointed needles as protection against eating.
It forms berries for reproduction, which are also used to refine food and drinks.A task to highlight:
The berry-like cones of the juniper need several years to ripen. Therefore, there are always cones on the bushes that are differently mature. At first they are green, ripe cones are black-blue.
Find out how long it takes the berry-like cones to develop from pollination to maturity.
