The name of the former health resort Weißer Hirsch refers to former parforce hunts in the Dresdner Heide. In 1686 there was an entry in the Weißiger church book: Kapellmeister Bernardi becomes the owner and calls his tavern Zum Weißen Hirsch. In 1921, when it was incorporated into Dresden, the former manor and current district, which had been divided into villa colonies since 1872, was given the name Kurort Weißer Hirsch Dresden. The area is later renamed Dresden - Bad Weißer Hirsch. The reason for this was the prevailing stimulating climate, the health resort, etc. in the sanatorium of Dr. Heinrich Lahmann as well as the presence of a presumed mineral spring (paradise spring). 10. In the center of the former spa town of Weißer Hirsch, there was probably the most famous of the numerous spa facilities, the Lahmann Sanatorium.
