The Plattleite served as a connection between Loschwitz and Weißer Hirsch in the past. In the past, the sometimes very narrow and steep path was also referred to as a ravine. In the municipal documents from 1875 there is already a cost estimate for the construction and widening of the ravine. It was then that the name Plattleithenweg appeared for the first time. It is believed that Platt was a field name, and a mountain slope is generally referred to as Leite or Leithe.

Hiking

This is a somewhat strenuous uphill path, which is very romantic but steep in the lower part and leads under the funicular railway.
