There is no name or information sign on site for this beautiful path with the hiking marker "Green Cross": It begins at the "Gräfenstein Ruin" car park and ends after more than 4 km where it meets the "Pfälzer Waldpfad" premium hiking trail. ATTENTION: We are in a "core zone" of the Palatinate Forest, as can be seen from the triangular, green "Zone for Natural Development" signs. There are a few things to note here:"The core zone 'source area of the Wieslauter' is a special part of the Palatinate Forest-Northern Vosges Biosphere Reserve. The forest is not used for forestry on 2400 hectares, and natural forest development, unaffected by humans, is the focus. Old trees and trees at risk of breaking are not removed. Trees can fall over and branches fall onto the paths. Dead trees can remain standing. Paths fall into disrepair. [...] Visiting the core zone 'source area of the Wieslauter' and using the paths is therefore expressly at your own risk!
If special weather conditions prevail such as strong wind, heavy rain or ice or snowfall, please refrain from entering the forest."
