Since the Rodalber Wandermarathon is taking place on the Felsenwanderweg next week, something long was needed today. So, I took the train to Schopp and went back to Rodalben via Heltersberg and Clausen. Highlights along the way: Seelenfelsen, Heidelsburg and Gipfelstürmerbank. 💪

Since my son and I are still complete beginners in geocaching, we are still having some difficulty with it. Today we found nothing. Maybe we should start with the easy ones first🤷♂️. For me, now it's time to start preparing for the Rodalber Wandermarathon (26.09). Next weekend, at least a 20k tour must be done.

Today I went geocaching with my son. As we were both still a bit under the weather, we only did a short round. We found one out of three planned. One was hidden too well, the other is in the middle of the lawn where there was too much going on.

After the vacation in Austria, we went back to the Pfälzerwald today. Since my son was with me, it was a rather short round. Roughly, we walked the Drachenfelstour, but extended it with the Schlüssel- and Buchkammerfels. Start/Finish Hexenplätzel.

On the last day of vacation, there was still a bit of action. We took the train up to the Hochjoch mountain station. At the Intersportfinale there, you can sign up for a mountain kart descent (19€ single ride). From 1860 m, it goes down over finely gravelled paths to the middle station at 1345 m. Approximately

Today I went around the village of Frankenstein. The castle ruins and two nice views of the castle were the highlights of the tour. The landscape could easily be a model for a model railway.
