The hiking trail passes below the soul rock. There are two stories of how the mighty and impressive Buntsandstein rock formation got its name. The first legend tells of the forester Philip Seel, who got off the track at night on 04.09.1839 and fell to his death. The villagers who found the dead called the cliff "soul rock". The other legend tells of a father and his five-year-old son, who were on October 31, 1875 fogging on the rock. Here, too, the father fell, but a faint light shone in the mist and led the son to Clausen, where he sought help. The helpers, however, found the father dead. It was immediately clear to them that the weak light had to be the soul of the father, who wanted to lead his son safely to the village.
