Long, very beautiful, narrow path - partly with fallen trees, rocks and a wet (stream) spot. ATTENTION: We are in a "core zone" of the Palatinate Forest, which can be recognized by the triangular, green "Zone for natural development" signs and where a few things need to be observed:

"The core zone 'source area of the Wieslauter' is a special part of the Palatinate Forest-Northern Vosges Biosphere Reserve. The forest is left to itself on 2,400 hectares and is not used for forestry purposes.

Trees can fall over and branches can fall onto the paths. Dead trees can remain standing. Paths fall into disrepair. The previous CULTURAL forest is developing into a NATURAL forest again.

Visiting the core zone 'source area of the Wieslauter' and using the paths is therefore expressly at your own risk! [...] If special weather conditions prevail, such as strong wind, heavy rain or ice or snowfall, please refrain from entering the forest."

For me, this is one of the most beautiful places in the Palatinate Forest. The path leads right through the core zone of the "Wieslauter source area" - a magical, old beech forest that has been left to itself for 20 years. Please be respectful of nature here. You should not leave the path under any circumstances. Cycling is also not allowed. This is a particularly protected zone. In autumn and winter, during storms, there is also an extremely high risk of branches breaking because forestry operations have been suspended.

Beautiful, natural, fairytale-like path with trees lying across it. Suitable for bikers in both directions in difficulty level S3. However, the bike must be shouldered a few times
