The Furtwangler memorial plaque is located south of Ebersteinburg near Baden-Baden. The inscription carved into the rock commemorates the composer Wilhelm Furtwängler, one of the most important conductors of the 20th century:
"IN MEMORY OF WILHELM FURTWÄNGLER THE GREAT PEOPLE, CONDUCTORS AND COMPOSERS. HE DIED ON 30.XI.1954 IN EBERSTEINBURG HOSPITAL HE WAS A FRIEND TO THIS LANDSCAPE HE LOVED THE SOLITUDE OF ITS PATHS AND THE PEACE OF ITS FORESTS"
