On the Alvier you have a wonderful view to the west of Lake Walen, to the north into the Rhine Valley to Lake Constance and to the southeast into the Rhine Valley upwards towards Prättigau - in between to the mountains of the cantons of Appenzell, St. Gallen, Glarus and Graubünden as well as the peaks of Liechtenstein and Vorarlberg. Simply wonderful 😍😍😍. And the broad back of the Alvier and the Alvier hut invite you to linger and enjoy.

For example, descent to the Alvier:

- Through the south flank of Palfris via Chemmi. (T3 with rope safety devices)

- Over the northwest slope from Buchser-Malbun via Alp Malschüel. (T3)

The Alviergruppe (also: Alvierkette) is a mountain range in the Swiss canton of St. Gallen. The highest point is the Gamsberg with 2385 m. The chain extends between the Rhine Valley and the Seeztal southeast of the Churfirsten from the Nideri to Sargans.
